Meet Mindy

I started out photographing live music, shooting concerts for the Arizona Republic, KWSS and Valley Hype. That work taught me to read a room in the dark, stay out of the way and take the moment as it comes, which turned out to be exactly the right training for a wedding day.

Eight years and more than 256 weddings later, I still work the same way. Real, raw and meaningful beats traditional every time, so I am not going to line your family up for an hour. I would rather catch your dad noticing you in the doorway. Around one frame in ten comes back in black and white, because some moments read better without the colour.

Home is Phoenix, shared with my husband of twenty years, three Weimaraners and one very opinionated cat. Yoga keeps me level, travel feeds me, and I will take tacos and a live band over a formal dinner any night. So far the job has taken me to ten states and twenty-one countries, and I am always happy to add another.
